Graphic design is a multifaceted industry. It's more than just making something compelling to look at. It's about knowing your audience. It's about knowing how to create something that can be printed easily with little complaint from commercial printers. Speaking honestly, print shops these days often dread graphic designers bringing in their works of art, because designers these days too often focus exclusively on making something look pretty with no understanding of how to create it in the real world. As someone who worked at a commercial printer for many years as head of a pre-press department, I know how to design for the end result. I have a great reputation with the local print shops and will bring my expertise and care to every piece I create, from logos to flyers to online materials to magazines to full printed books and ebooks.
